THANKS MIDWEST // WEST COAST NEXT // OPEN CA DATE

Hi friends, it’s been a whirlwind since I left home for tour a couple weeks ago. Ghosts in the Garden is out! What a relief and what a joy! It’s gotten some really beautiful thoughtful press and seems to be finding people who are ready to hear it. Always such a long arc on an album, from writing through recording and mixing, and then tasks, waiting, tasks, waiting, more tasks…it feels hugely liberating and complete to finally have it be as real for other people as it has been for us all this time.

THANKS MIDWEST // The midwest tour was a dream, it was so great to see everyone, great to hear Erik Koskinen’s sets in Mankato and Trempealeau and Chris Pureka’s sets in Evanston, Madison, and Minneapolis. I hadn’t been assembled in a room with Erik, Moses, and Ray since we recorded the album in November of 2023! So we had a big rehearsal day to remember how the songs go, and then had the great pleasure of feeling them coalesce and deepen each night as our ears and spirits aligned.

WEST COAST // We can’t wait to get back to it on the west coast next week! We’ll start in Portland at Showbar on 3/26, with Chris Pureka doing us the great honor of opening the show in their own damn town. Chris and I go back at least a couple decades and they’re such a great writer and performer; it’s been the absolute sweetest to play some of these shows together. We’ll swoop up to Bellingham to play the New Prospect Theatre on 3/27 where Koskinen will treat us to an opening set, and then back to Seattle to play the Rabbit Box Theater on 3/28, again with Pureka opening. As of this writing, Seattle is teetering on the edge of selling out, so you’ll want to look right into that if you were hoping to come. Hood River we are in fact SOLD OUT at the Red Barn on 3/29, and then we’ll point ourselves south to Eugene where we play the Hybrid on 3/30

After a day off we’ll continue down to California to play the Arcata Playhouse on 4/1, then on to Novato to play the Hopmonk Tavern on 4/2 with Erik Koskinen again doing opener duty, and then to Albany to play the Ivy Room on 4/3 with Kristen Ford opening. It’s very disorienting for me to have been away from California so long, so I hope everyone comes out so we can catch up on the last five years!

On Friday 4/4 we had a three-dimensional miscommunication that ended up with us having an inadvertent night off. A free night to hang in the South Bay is definitely not the worst thing in the world, but if anyone has crazy ideas for a way we could pull off a show, we’re all ears! All we really need is a structure of some kind (barn, record store, community theater, etc etc), a couple mics and a PA, and someone willing to host a little popup show. Send your hot tips and flashes of brilliance to info@krisdelmhorst.com and we’ll keep you posted.

Whatever does or does not happen that night, we’ll rejoin our scheduled programming in Santa Monica at McCabe’s Guitar Shop on 4/5, and then take a victory lap through Ojai to close things out at Ojai Underground on 4/6, with Erik Koskinen sharing the bill.

On the road we have a few lovely merch items including very cool screen printed posters of a woodcut-style design by Mark Brabant inspired by the song Wolves, and gorgeous bandanas in green and black with a ghosty/gardeny design by Anna Jane Lester. Plus of course records and stickers! For the moment these are only available at shows, but after this run we’ll see about getting them up in the shop.

In May we’ll be playing shows in the Northeast from Maine to the DC area; see the tour dates below and get your plans together!

It goes without saying that this is a stressful moment in time - I know people are a bit exhausted by it and it’s easy to want to hide out at home, but may I make a pitch for the therapeutic value of live music? If nothing else, it really makes the rest of the world go away for a little while, and hopefully refreshes some layers of the spirit that can get roughed up and/or numbed out by witnessing the doings of our new billionaire overlords. Anyway, we’ll do our best every night to make it worth getting off the couch. Thanks everybody and we can’t wait to see you out there! *kd
